Lefkada
Lefkada is a gorgeous Greek island sitting in the Ionian Sea. It’s one of the few Greek islands that’s fully accessible by car, connected to the mainland by a little bridge. It is one of the most popular Ionian destinations, full of amazing beaches with turquoise waters, monasteries, museums, and seafront or mountainous villages with a unique charm. Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Kathisma are the most famous beaches and the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean-have won international acclaim and are awarded annually with Blue Flags, while Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki are great places for windsurfing and other watersports. In general, beaches on the western side of the island are the most impressive ones due to their deep blue color. Lefkas is the biggest city and the capital, as well as administrative and cultural center of the island. It has about 8,000 inhabitants. With its characteristic architectural style, its narrow lanes, well cared for courtyards and delightfully unspoiled aristocratic charm is what gives the visiting traveler a first impression.
