FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
1. The Experience & E-Bikes
You don't need to be an athlete, but you do need to know how to ride a bicycle confidently. Our premium e-bikes are designed to "flatten" the mountains, allowing you to conquer steep hills with minimal effort. A moderate level of physical fitness is recommended to fully enjoy the ride, but the electric assistance is there to support you every step of the way.
We strongly recommend using our fleet of high-end e-bikes. They are meticulously maintained, and their battery range is calculated specifically for our routes. Using the same equipment ensures a uniform pace for the whole group. However, if you prefer to bring your own e-bike, please contact us to discuss if it is suitable for the specific terrain.
Absolutely! We love family adventures.
- Ages 14+ (min height 1.50m): Can ride their own e-bike.
- Younger children: Can use our "Tag-along" bikes (connected to an adult’s bike).
- Infants (up to 22kg): Travel safely in certified European-standard child seats.
No, we do not offer standalone bike rentals. Our philosophy is to provide complete, curated experiences, not just equipment. We believe that the best way to discover the hidden gems, history, and culture of our region is alongside a certified local guide. This ensures your safety, offers full support, and guarantees that you get the absolute best experience out of your visit.
We love animals! If you wish to bring your pet, please contact us in advance. While they cannot run alongside the bikes for safety reasons, we can arrange for small pets to travel comfortably in our support vehicle during the cycling sections.
2. Logistics, Comfort & Safety
Travel light and worry-free. On our day trips, you don’t need a backpack; our support vehicle carries everything you need. On multi-day adventures, we handle the daily transfer of your luggage from hotel to hotel. You just leave your bags at the reception and find them waiting for you at your next destination.
Yes. A support vehicle accompanies all our guided tours. It carries water, snacks, spare parts, and your personal items. It’s also there to offer a lift if you feel tired or just want to take a break from pedaling.
Our tours run rain or shine, as long as it is safe. We provide waterproof ponchos for light rain. In case of extreme weather conditions, we will prioritize your safety by pausing the ride, transferring you with our vehicles, or adjusting the itinerary.
Your safety is our top priority. All our guides and key staff are certified in First Aid, and we carry medical kits on all tours. Furthermore, Ioannina is home to two major Hospitals (University & General), providing high-level medical care if needed. We have established protocols to handle any emergency swiftly and efficiently.
We provide the essentials: a high-quality helmet (mandatory), a reusable water bottle, and the e-bike. We recommend wearing comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes. You are welcome to bring your own helmet or pedals (SPD) if you prefer—just let us know, and we will fit them for you.
3. Booking & Travel Services
Absolutely! We want everyone to share the experience. Non-cyclists are welcome to ride comfortably in our support vehicle which accompanies the group at all times. They will enjoy the same breathtaking route, meet up with the cyclists at every photo stop, and participate fully in all cultural visits, picnics, and meals. They remain an integral part of the team throughout the day.
Of course. Gastronomy is a huge part of our experience. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary preferences when booking. Our picnics and partner restaurants feature fresh, local ingredients, and we can easily tailor the menu to suit your needs.
Yes. As a fully licensed Travel Agency, we can take care of your entire itinerary. From booking your flights and arranging private transfers to securing extra nights at a boutique hotel or organizing a visit to Meteora, our team can handle all your travel arrangements.
Currently, we do not organize "open" groups where solo travelers can join other participants. All our tours are exclusively private, meaning they are organized specifically for your own personal group of friends or family. We do not mix strangers together, in order to guarantee a personalized, flexible, and high-quality experience for you and your company.
We understand that plans can change. You can find our detailed Cancellation Policy & Terms of Service [here]. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.
For our multi-day tours, we accept bookings up to 10 days prior to the departure date. For our single-day excursions, you can reserve your spot up to 3 days before the tour.
4. Planning Your Trip to Epirus
Epirus is well-connected through several airports. Depending on your flight origin and budget, you can choose:
- Ioannina Airport (IOA): The closest option (King Pyrros). Located right in the heart of Epirus. Connects mainly with Athens and some charter flights.
- Aktion/Preveza Airport (PVK): The main holiday hub (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours drive). Offers many direct flights from European cities during the summer season.
- Thessaloniki Airport (SKG): The major international hub in Northern Greece. It is about a 2.5 to 3-hour drive via the modern Egnatia Highway.
- Corfu Airport (CFU): A good option if you want to combine islands and mountains. Requires a 1.5-hour ferry crossing to Igoumenitsa.
💡 Budget Tip - Flying via Albania: Many travelers choose to fly into Tirana International Airport (TIA) in Albania, as there are often very competitive low-cost flights.
Drive Time: Approx. 3.5 - 4 hours to Konitsa/Zagori.

⚠️ Important Note on Borders: If you choose this route, you will cross the border at Kakavia. Please ensure you check:
- Visa Requirements: Albania is outside the Schengen zone. Check if your passport allows entry to Albania and re-entry to Greece (Schengen Area) without a visa.
- Delays: Border crossings can sometimes have queues, especially in peak summer months (August).
- Car Rental: If renting a car in Tirana, verify that the rental company allows cross-border travel to Greece (Green Card insurance is mandatory).
Absolutely. To make your arrival stress-free, we organize private transfers from any of the above airports or ports directly to your hotel. Just share your flight details with us, and our driver will be waiting for you.
Epirus is a year-round destination. For cycling, Spring (April-June) is magical as nature blooms, and Autumn (September-November) offers mild weather and golden landscapes. Summer is also excellent for high-altitude riding in Pindus or combining cycling with swimming in the Ionian Sea.
Definitely. Being locally based, we know exactly how to connect the dots. We frequently design itineraries that combine the mountains of Epirus with the majestic Meteora rocks or a relaxing extension to Corfu and Lefkada. Just let us know your wishlist!
Not at all—that’s what we are here for! While our guides are fluent in English, they act as your cultural bridge, translating stories and interactions in remote villages. That said, locals love it when visitors make a small effort!
Using just a few basic words like "Kalimera" (Good morning), "Efharisto" (Thank you), or "Yassou" (Hello) instantly warms the hearts of the elderly villagers and earns you the biggest smiles. Don't worry, we will teach you the essentials on the go!

While most places accept cards, we travel to remote villages where some small traditional cafés may operate only with cash. We recommend carrying some Euro cash for small expenses.
